Artificial Intelligence or AI, has been dominating our news in both our business and personal lives. The introduction of this technology is no longer relegated to large corporations, but is an expected experience from the consumer, the client and the employee.
In Procurement and Supply Chain, many teams struggle with getting the budget for updated technology and AI has added to the mix of technology we need. Some teams have over a dozen tools to run their Procurement and Supply Chain departments. ERP’s, CLM’s, R2P, S2P, Data Systems and so much more, with each of these tools developing AI at a fast pace.
Procurement and Supply Chain teams work responsibilities are continuing to evolve. Teams are expected to own the process between the Need State (the state of anyone in our organization's need of a product or service) through A/P (Accounts Payable) process to posting on the P/L (Profit and Loss) statement. On top of that, we are expected to understand the technology that drives all of those processes, including AI.
